the atomic bitchwax - kiss the sun

I chose many of the songs here randomly, so it's a coincidence that the last post and this are related by a common (former) member.

The Atomic Bitchwax doesn't have the solid discography you'd expect from their outstanding first and self-titled record, which is all-in-all kind of sad. I'm having trouble not making this a complete album post, due to TAB being that good. However, I'll come back to the other songs later... til then, you get a not-so-concise daily about how great "Kiss The Sun" is.

"Kiss The Sun" is a very fluid hard rock, stoner metal track. In the right mood, it's a breath of fresh air - the lyrics (yes, lyrics) and vocals come across as distant and stream of consciousness, creating a calming atmosphere despite the music being intense and humming. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this song as an introduction to the band or their overall style, but it's a damn good song.

Since I can't find anything more than a preview of this song, you'll be able to find the album itself online, and the band has a few samples in their website's media section as well as their myspace.

If you like what you hear, keep in mind that The Atomic Bitchwax will have an album and subsequent tour coming in 2008.
